Alice Garik is a visual artist whose passionate relationship with the natural world is at the core of her work. She works with people whose tattoos have animals and plants and combines these with flora & fauna for her palladium prints.

She is a master story teller. For years Alice crafted people's stories through weddings, maternity, birth and family photography.

Now, literally via the skin tattooed with desired imagery, she tells stories of reaching beyond self, beyond human. The tattoo is the gateway to merge with the larger world of animals and plants. With each tattoo she looks for correspondences in flowers, insects, snakes, sea weeds, seeds, mosses, twigs – in nature as a whole.

Alice has honed her craft working with film and the wet darkroom. Palladium is her preferred printing medium. Hand made, translucent gampi is her preferred paper. The sun is her preferred exposure method.

Alice's work is in the collections of The Brooklyn Museum and The New York Public Library. Her work has been used on the sets of “Eat, Pray, Love”, “Mr. Popper's Penguins” and “Gossip Girl”. Her commissioned work has appeared in “Orion Magazine”, at Bergdorf Goodman, and on book covers.

She has exhibited in the states and recently, internationally, in Berlin, Germany and Sydney, Australia.
